Chroma Dam is the fourth district of Chroma City as well as the fourth level of de Blob. It is the namesake of the Major Landmark in the area and serves as the introduction to the Inky Tank - the strongest enemy in the game. In addition, new landmarks are added into the game: the Jail Cells and the Tank Depot; the first time Big Paintbots are seen in the game, and a new hazard: Stampers.

Story

After rallying the workers in Downtown, the Colour Underground head to the dam in order to remove the ink from the waterways. However, this meets with a complication as Bif, who was spying behind the Inky lines with regards to a new weapon, was captured and imprisoned. Therefore, the main priority became rescuing Biff. Afterwards, they continued with their original mission and headed towards the dam to clear the waterway downstream.

Sectors in Chroma Dam

There are a total of three sectors, but Sector Three will be split into two parts.

Sector 1: Jail Breakout

Here, the entrance pool is surrounded by mounds and trees. The road ahead is flooded with ink up to the tunnel, and the rooftops have hot plates attached. Beyond the ink, the road drops down and heads towards the prison walls before being blocked by barriers and more hot plates. Cliffs surround this sector to the west, south and east, with the north having concrete walls protecting them from the water above, as well as the buildings in the next sector. On the hill, there are some buildings next to the cliffs and few trees in this small area. The entrance to the prison has two tall towers with a building in between. Getting past it is a propaganda tower - but this one acts as a early warning system. It sits on a hill surrounded by a big block of small buildings. Likewise, buildings on the left follow down the hill to to the north; and there is another block of buildings with a retaining wall to its south. The west side also has a long row of buildings that ends near the INKT Courthouse. Near the vicinity of the courthouse, there is some trees, a propaganda van, a billboard, some tires and hot plates defending the sector gate.

Within the main prison compound is two jails, a INKT Police Station, a small block of buildings and four tall towers - all surrounded by fences with a small entrance near the second jail. Transforming the first jail triggers the alarm within the police station, which would need to be dealt with before tackling the second jail. In front of said jail is a few Inkies along with a Heavy Inky.

Sector 2: Ink Crossing and the Plaza of Confrontation

Immediately there is a steep hill with buildings in the centre (with hot plates) and right - but not the left. Reaching the top is a row of buildings in front of a cliff that stops before the bridge. The bridge connects the two parts together and to the right there is an excavator ship with a bucket saw*. To the left is the waterway filled with ink with a large fence separating this area from the secondary dam. An inky ambush occurs on this bridge, and reaching the other end of the bridge is the first sight of the Big Painbot. The dockside has trees running along the waterfront. The road splits into two with one going past the propaganda tower and turning left before stopping next to the Raydian Re-education Center, and the other one bearing left past the center before climbing the hill. At the center, there are two rows of hot plates blocking the entrance with a small block on the right. Behind this is a row of buildings with two billboards which ends on the left with a retaining wall. Lines of tall and small buildings follow the main road up to the top of the hill.

Once at the top, there is a large plaza with the outer buildings being quite tall, and the inner circle being smaller. There are walkways, leading up to a z-jump as alternative route as the main way out is blocked by hot plates. In the middle, there is a park with a blocked fountain that has the insignia of INKT. Beyond the plaza, is a walled avenue of mostly tall buildings surrounding the road at the bottom. Said road has two tunnels at each end and has entrenched water ducts on both sides. On the road surface are plenty of tires, trash, and some flat bridges to get back to the plaza. The main thing is the wind cannon in the middle near the northern tunnel. Using it clears Blob from the area and to the sector gate. This small area is again walled off but has a tunnel with a road that continues into the next area and a z-jump, on top of some containers, to return to the avenue.

Sectors 3A & 3B: The Depot, Jail, Crossing and the Chroma Dam

As stated before, this sector will be split into two parts.

Sector 3A: Tank Depot, Island Jail and Ink Crossing

Immediately, the road splits into two with the road going straight end just before the cliffs; whilst the other direction splits into another two roads that head straight to the tank depot and another near the waterfront. To the right of the depot is a block of buildings and another block to the left with hot plates and a wind cannon at the top. Along the waterfront, there is some docks and trees running the length of the front. There is a massive body of ink separating this area from the Island Jail with walls keeping it from overflowing into other areas. Getting a boat ride to the jail and there are a patrol of leetchbots with a fence and two towers. From the west and north, it's surrounded by small cliffs. Looking further down the ink body is a fence with two pipes of coming out of the cliffs and pouring more ink. Returning back to the docks, the previously mentioned wind cannon is aimed at a island with two towers and cliffs. This platform has some containers and another cannon aimed at the lower parts of the dam sector. The main platform has six silos with a few silos near the wall/cliffs as well as a z-jump. Using the z-jump to arrive at a walkway and bypassing some hot plates with some stampers in front of the secondary dam is another z-jump to more walkways, with some even above Sector 1. Here, some silos are embedded into the cliffs. On top of the secondary dam, is a style swirl and another wind cannon to get back to the platform.

Sector 3B: The Chroma Dam

The area is filled with machinery in the central island that pumps the ink downstream. Tall silos with spires containing concentrated ink are dotted around the river with pontoons, allowing access between the central islands and the silos.

On the dam, there are hazards such as stampers on the dam wall and hot plates on the platforms scaling the wall. Z-jumps are provided to traverse from level to level. Right in the center of the wall, a meshed section allows you to see the gears running the dam. Two massive outlets on each side allows the ink to travel from the reservoir above to the river below. At the top is an Inky ambush and the exit pool is connected to the rest of the dam. At each side is some pumping machinery to raise the platforms to reach the silos that are located away from the dam. Note that by touching the silos, leetchbots and Heavy Inkies will spawn.

Bonus Quests

As in every level, there are two bonus quests to unlock, that you can go into using the level selection screen. For this you need to unlock the silver and gold medals. This can be done by raising your colour energy by painting the map. The table below shows the scores and what it unlocks.
