Elite Inkies (or known as Elites in De Blob 2) are a special type of Inky super soldier infused with color. They can't be slammed by Blob unless he matches their color.
Background[]
The first Elite Inky was created in the Docklands, as Inky Scientists injected a red serum inside a normal Inky. Afterward, that Inky got a different look but was shocked as it looked up and noticed a purple Blob prop about to fall on him. However, it didn't get squished as the prop only stopped at his helmet. It turns out that every color does not squish it (green, yellow, orange, blue) … except for one color: red. It has come to the conclusion that Elite Inkies can only be squished by a certain color matching their appearance.
Appearance[]
In De Blob, Elite Inkies resemble Heavy Inkies, but with a bit of color on them. They have a black stripe going from the top of their helmets to the bottom. The ink droplet symbol on where their eye is located is white instead of black. Their helmets are also mostly coloured (depending on what color Elite Inkies are), as well as their suit. They are also seen wielding two batons instead of the usual one. They keep this appearance as well in De Blob 2 (DS).
Elite Inkies return in De Blob 2 (known as Elites some of the times) with a new appearance change. Their appearance is almost identical to Heavy Inky's now (without the tank), as their helmet looks the same thing as theirs, but it is the only thing coloured on them. There are also three spike-like objects on top of their helmet. They also have a suit similar to a Heavy Inky's, having pockets and pouches on it. They also have ink pen-like tips on their hands, which allows them to throw ink and perform spin attacks.
Strategy[]
To defeat an Elite Inky, Blob must be the same color as them. Otherwise, he won't do anything but stun them for a bit and also bounce off of them.
In de Blob, Elite Inkies can move faster than normal Inkies as they also wield dual batons that can damage and ink Blob a lot more. They can also do somersaults to catch up to Blob, so be aware of their movement. It costs 4 paint points to defeat an Elite Inky, as long as Blob is the right color.
In de Blob 2 (DS), Elite Inkies don't need paint points to be defeated, as Blob can simply just slam or stomp on them. They can still ink and damage Blob, however.

In de Blob 2, Elite Inkies have new abilities. They no longer wield batons, as they have ink pen tips on their hands that can do two things. One, they can throw Ink Bubbles at Blob, damaging and inking him at the same time. If Blob dodges that, those ink bubbles could land on a building, bleaching it and undoing Blob's work. And as for two, they can perform a spin attack which they will chase Blob. Blob can outrun them for a while, and if he successfully escapes them, they'll trip and get frustrated as they struggle on the ground for a while, leaving them vulnerable at the right moment.
However, Elite Inkies in this game are much of a challenge compared to de Blob and de Blob 2 (DS). They have the ability to change colours anytime, as seen at the stage Blanc TV Factory before Blob can enter the factory. But it depends on what colours Elite Inkies contain, as a primary-coloured Elite can change either red, blue, or yellow and a secondary-coloured Elite can change either orange, green, or purple. Blob must wait at the right time or else they'll change colours the last minute. It costs 25 paint points to defeat them, as long Blob is the right color.
Trivia[]
- Elite Inkies are the only type of Inky to have any color besides black on their bodies.
- In de Blob, in the comic strip before the Docklands level, one confused Inky asks if the Elite Inkies are on the same side as the other Inkies because of the color on their bodies.
- Unlike de Blob, brown Elite Inkies are rare in de Blob 2. Only two are seen in the power station in the Inktron Collider. This may be because Elites are much more powerful in the later game.
- Colourless Elites can be seen in the Prison Zoo / Orbital Habitats.
