Guggentraz Island is the 5th level of de Blob. It introduces many gameplay mechanics, enemies, and hazards, such as Spike Traps, the Inky Turret, the Paint Tanker, the Inky Jet Bike and the Monorail.

Story[]

In Chroma City, Guggentraz Island was where a lot of famous Raydian painters lived. That is, until INKT came. They imprisoned several painters in Guggentraz Island in the former art museum, now transformed into a jail. Blob arrives there from Chroma Dam where The Prof tells them that even though the water is pure, the minds of Raydians are still clouded. The task is to get to Guggentraz Jail and free the artists.

Sectors in Guggentraz Island[]

As with all levels in de Blob, there isn't a name given to an area within a level. Hence, they will be numbered. Sector 3 will be split into two parts as the only link between the two is the monorail.

Sector 1: The Jetbikes and Monorails
[]

The starting area. An empty sewer (canal) flows from the start to Lake Raydia. It's blocked south of the water pump station for this sector by a concrete dam. The first section can be navigated by a series of platoons. To the left and right, there is a wall of spikes. Jumping down, there are four ramps (One is blocked by rock formations) that can be used to exit the sewers which contain spike traps lining a small section of the sewer. Many of the buildings in this sector are located north of the sewer; and these can vary from tall skyscrapers to short apartments. South of the sewer is a group of small buildings. Directly north of the empty sewer, there is a plaza with three wind cannons, targeting different buildings around the plaza. Most tall buildings in this area are topped with spikes so caution is advised. There are a row of trees placed near the lakefront.

In terms of INKT landmarks, there are four: One water pump station, a police station to the north of that, a propaganda tower and the office of the INKT Censor, which both of them are near the gate to Sector 2.

The Guggentraz Monorail has two stations here; One above the plaza (which can be reached with a wind cannon), and the other by hopping onto one the trains coming from the plaza station.

Sector 2: Grand Central Station and Lockdown

Tall buildings sit right next to the border. In front, a single Inky Turret guards Grand Central Station, which is where most of the monorails converge and has two monorail stations (Only one can be used by Blob). The station has a small row of buildings all with varying heights right next to it. Heading west stands two more Turrets with a Paint Tanker. Beyond that is small grid apartment blocks covered at the tops by spikes with Inky Jetbikes patrolling the streets (These can only be stopped by transforming the Police Station in Sector 3). South of the grid is a row of tall buildings. Moving towards the Sector Gate, guarded by Heavy Inkies; there is a monorail station above next to some tall buildings. There are no INKT Landmarks in this sector.

Sector 3: Last Defence and Jailbreak

Sector 3A: Power through the Defences
[]

The third and final sector in the level. Another sewer runs south from the mountains from the north and curves to head west to Lake Raydia. Two Inky Turrets defend the bridges over the sewer and more Jetbikes patrol the streets. Spike traps cover the east as well as tall buildings which surround the north - western and north - eastern parts. Near the lake, there is a park which has two wind cannons directed at the last two monorail stations before Guggentraz Jail. Next to the sewer, there are small groups of buildings that have Z-Jump pads that connect the start of the sector to the water pump station.

In total there are three INKT Landmarks: A police Station that works for both Sectors 2 and 3, a water pump station and the INKT Security Office.

Sector 3B: Guggentraz Island:

The objective of this level. It is an elevated island with a large courtyard and contains two small lakes (one of which is filled with ink until a transform engine is activated). A monorail station is located here with a small group of buildings that heads back to the stations in Sector 1. The main landmark here is the INKT Prison which has a small group of Heavy Inkies and Spike Traps. The top of the prison can be reached using a wind cannon. The exit pool is located just to the east of the jail.

Bonus Quests[]

As in every level, there are two bonus quests to unlock, that you can go into using the level selection screen. For this you need to unlock the silver and gold medals. This can be done by raising your colour energy by painting the map. The table below shows the scores and what it unlocks.
