Hypnodiscs are a type of robot enemy introduced in de Blob 2, first appearing in Blanctown. They are small flying saucers used by the INKT Corporation to hypnotize anyone who tries to resist them.
Strategy[]
Hypnodiscs normally patrol an area by floating along a preset path. However, when they detect a colorful character like Blob, they'll seek out their target to try to trap them in their hypno beam (this can be avoided by standing still and crouching when a Hypnodisc is aproaching). When a Hypnodisc catches you, it'll hypnotize you and drag you to the nearest pool of ink or water to erase your color. To escape from a Hypnodisc's hypno beam, the player must shake the Wii Remote hard enough to break free.
Hypnodiscs themselves are indestructible, but are normally controlled by Blanc TVs, so destroying a Blanc TV will also destroy the Hypnodisc(s) it was controlling. Shepherds are also able to send Hypnodiscs after Blob, but these Hypnodiscs will immediately return to the Shepherd that spawned them if they fail to catch Blob.
