De Blob Wiki

Trainspotting is the second bonus mission of Guggentraz Island, and it is a painting challenge. It is notably simpler than Jetbike Blitz and the first to involve monorails as a form to get around the canyon; albeit with a faster transport speed. There are only Blue Paintbots in this mission, but they are more plentiful than the mission Lost Freeway.

Furthermore, there is a constant line of monorail trains running, allowing easy movement throughout the mission. This mission will also involve wall running and jumping skills. No Inkies or hazards are present in this mission.

Chroma City Railways used to be public transport for the people, Blob.

—Professor

Now the trains are filled with INKT police bullying Graydian workers.

—Zip

Let’s give ‘em something to look at out the windows.

—Bif

Some cool blue stations and sidings would lift the spirits of the commuters!

Location[]

The exit pool is located at the southern end of the map at an elevated platform, above the monorails. Two Blue paintbots stand in front of the pool with cliffs on either side. Heading off the platform, there's some buildings and a monorail station connected to the lower pair of buildings. Many of these buildings sit on top of raised foundations. After the first set of buildings on the right, there is a short line of fencing with unrenderable buildings in the background. The second station has scaffolding nearby, should you accidently fall from the trains. In addition, Z - Jumps are placed around the map, so you can quickly get back up to catch the trains.

The small row of buildings with the station is separated from the taller blocks by a pavement platform. Another pair of buildings sit opposite the station with a small gap in between. The northern end of the pavement has a taller scaffold, allowing you to wall jump to the next group of four buildings in the corner. After this group is two groups of blocks close to one another. The right group has a collapsed catwalk that is now a makeshift walkway to the platform. Tucked away behind the group of buildings to the right is a retaining wall above in the cliffs.

Heading further in, and there is another group of buildings with a scaffold at the southern end. The northern end of this group has its foundations beneath the small body of water - which is the same for the group on the other side. Further north, and there are a few sand islands, with the southern island containing a broken aqueduct. The second island has a Z - Jump to get back up to the roofs, as well as a paintbot. There is another pair of buildings to the east up upon raised foundations. Beyond that is another island with a bracket type column support. Up on the cliffs to the right is another broken section of an aqueduct, but more embedded into the cliffside. North from there is a set of scaffolds connected to a pair of small buildings on which a Z - Jump is on top of it; a row of scaffolds stacked upon one another, upon which holds a billboard. Another sand island is located to the north - west from this position, with the monorail tunnel just above it.

Close to the waters is a lower platform housing a flower shop and some parasols, seats and a small rock formation in the corner. On the upper platform, there is a warehouse to the left with 6 factory pumps lined up at the back next to the warehouse. To the right is some smaller pumps, and the exit pool is located near the southern end of the platform near the monorail tunnel. Shear tall walls surround the upper platform with a factory standing above, behind the walls.

The major attraction of this level is the monorail that curves through the canyon before exiting at the northern end.

Strategy[]

This challenge is relatively simple, as long as you learn how to wall - run and wall jump respectively. The many trains that run along the canyon are easy to get on board by targeting them and jumping to them. If you fall off at any time, you can use the many Z - Jumps to get back up onto a building/ station to catch another train.
